Nevada's 2026 Primary Election will be held on Tuesday 09 June 2026.
Stephanie Molina is running for the Board of Regents to help build a stronger, more accessible, and more accountable higher education system for Nevada.
As a member of the District 5 community for more than 30 years, Stephanie understands the needs, challenges, and aspirations of the families and communities NSHE is meant to serve and believes higher education must be more responsive to the public. Her platform centers on expanding opportunity, strengthening public trust, and aligning higher education more closely with Nevada’s economic and community needs.
Stephanie's commitment to this community is reflected through her current workforce development efforts, which include advancing a cybersecurity program in North Las Vegas, developing partnerships to support state-registered apprenticeship programs and upward mobility, and expanding STEAM programming that introduces youth to academic and career pathways.
With experience spanning research, higher education administration, and workforce and economic development, she brings strategic, evidence-based leadership grounded in public service.
Nevada’s higher education system must work for all the people of Nevada. As such, this campaign is rooted in a simple idea: public higher education should be accessible, accountable, and responsive not only to those on campus, but to the broader communities it is meant to serve.
Stephanie's platform centers on three key areas of focus. She believes NSHE and system administration must lead with transparency, accountability, and sound stewardship. She believes students, faculty, and staff deserve policies that support academic excellence, shared governance, opportunity, and institutional stability. And she believes the broader public must have a stronger place in the conversation, with higher education more intentionally aligned to community priorities, economic opportunity, and the long-term needs of Nevada.
As a longtime member of the District 5 community with experience spanning research, higher education administration, and workforce and economic development, Stephanie Molina brings a practical and community-centered perspective to the future of NSHE.
